The Herd

Our herd numbers around 60. They are completely grass fed and managed as a family herd, breeding and calving on their own. Hay is brought in to the pastures for about 8 months of the year. No antibiotics are used. We’re happy to answer any questions about how we do things and why.

2020 calving season began in early April. The animals breed and calve on their own. We bring in new bulls every few years to ensure genetic diversity.
Calves are walking within minutes of birth. The hide darkens over the summer.
